Familia AIZOACEAE
Flor de luna

Delosperma brunnthaleri, commonly known as Brunthal’s ice plant, is a perennial, creeping succulent belonging to the Aizoaceae family, native to the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is widely prized in gardening as a groundcover due to its high tolerance to drought, its resistance to extreme heat and its vibrant summer flowering.
A creeping or ground-covering plant that forms dense green cushions between 15 and 30 cm high and can spread up to 45 cm wide.
The leaves are fleshy, cylindrical and glaucous in texture, designed to store water efficiently.
The daisy-like flowers (around 2 cm in diameter) bloom profusely throughout the summer. The typical variety features pink-purple hues with pale centres, although there is also a popular form with yellow flowers.
Its flowers act as a powerful magnet for pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
